Obscured by colossal office towers (some of Europe's tallest) on all its corners is the marvellous Canary Wharf Ice Rink. The sublimely modern, corporate surroundings really encases what is a relatively large rectangular outdoor ice rink and makes me wonder about the eccentricity of plonking it there.
Together with Broadgate Circle Ice Rink, they will be the last of the London open-air Winter ice rinks that will close in a fortnight and reopen again next winter.
